Recent surveys, such as those undertaken by Goldman Sachs and
Pricewaterhouse Coopers, have estimated that India has the potential
to be among the world’s leading economies by 2050.
Further,India’s economy can potentially gain significantly from the country’scharacteristic features — a democratic open society, a strong technology base (with capacity for leapfrogging), unparalleled diversity, vibrant capital markets (including growing private equity and venture capital markets), an increasingly youthful population (50% of India is 25 years and younger), a sizeable market of a large number of customers with vast unmet needs as well as an environment of full and free competition in the private sector.
Undoubtedly, india's future is bright. Quality manpower is not an issue anymore.
But my only worry is our too much dependence on foreign economies. The recent sellout of AIG and Lehmann for instance, has left 2500 Indians jobless. This depicts the volatility of Indian economy.
NO doubt India will have super power in 2050 in every means by power and economy but 2050, why not 2020 can we don in 2020 if we can do in proper stradgy we can be super power in 2020 because india have most young population in india which can help us to achieve this gole.
QUOTE: The potential in India is infinite. But 2050 is a long long time at least for my life time.
LOL ..... that is indeed true!!!
We better think about the near future and try and make India a better place if not a superpower in our lifetime, and that would be well before 2050.....
