Hello Saumya!
Well copyright is legal issue with the help of which any one can protect his/her creation and anything that is invented by him/her. e.g. painting, novel, photography etc.
Any copyright thing can not be used by anyone other than the actual owner or creator, not even in the modified form. If someone is found using the same or in its modified form, then the owner or creator can claim for the royalty.

There are many versions of different copyright ... some are really odd like .... GPL and Creative Common.
U should be able to get ample information about them by searching.

Copy right is a law full concept supported by a government of any country of group of country which give the rights of “Ownership” and “Authorship”. This is called copy right .

copyright is enforced as a civil matter, though some jurisdictions do apply criminal sanctions.
